Cara Shardlow – Stepping up a level

After a very busy time up to August it’s been a lot quieter in August. Sando and Mario went to Snainton riding center to complete their Medium and Novice winter qualifications with 4 wins and great scores. They have their music to qualify for which I’ll get out and do in October hopefully. Now concentration has turned to training with them and getting Sandos flying changes more established for Advanced Medium.

I decided to try and get a last minute qualification at Intermediate II at Petplan round one with Detonator. Having never competed at this level we are still very green but I thought we may just be able to scrape our qualifications to get to the first rounds. We got the first one in July and then there was only one chance after that for the second one so it was all a bit of a close call but we managed it!

This then meant I had a trip to Hartpury the day after my brothers wedding which was not ideal and a break down on the way did not help. But it was worth it as we gained our qualification for the second round in October, so now I just have to learn how to ride the test better!!

I now have a quieter September to focus on training and it will be quite nice not to be flying up and down the country and I am sure the boys will appreciate the bit of a break.
