The Cavalier Centre. Supporting extraordinary horses with premium nutrition.

Celebrating the extraordinary horses making a difference every day.

For many of us, horses are already so much more than animals we ride.

They are friends. Teachers. Teammates. Confidence-givers. A source of freedom, comfort and joy.

But at Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) centres across the country, the relationship between horse and human can take on an even greater meaning.

That is something Horslyx wanted to celebrate.

Recently, Horslyx partnered with the Cavalier Centre to spend time with the people and, most importantly, the horses and ponies at the heart of the Centre. The aim was simple: to shine a light on these extraordinary animals, understand more about the difference they make and recognise
the importance of supporting them in return.

Because when horses give us so much, they deserve something back.

Being an RDA horse takes a special kind of horse.

They need the temperament to work calmly alongside a wide variety of people. They need patience, trust and adaptability, and the ability to build relationships with the people around them.

Sometimes their role is to help someone learn a new skill.

Sometimes it’s providing the confidence to try something that once felt impossible.

Sometimes it’s creating a sense of independence and freedom.

And sometimes their greatest contribution is much quieter. Providing companionship, connection or simply a reassuring presence.

The difference they make can extend far beyond the time spent in the saddle.

They might be a horse. But to someone, they’re confidence. Freedom. Friendship. Belonging. Joy.

Looking after the horses who look after us.

Celebrating everything these horses give also raises an important question:

What can we give them in return?

The answer isn’t necessarily one grand gesture.

It’s found in the everyday care that goes into keeping horses happy, healthy and able to fulfil their roles.

It’s understanding the individual horse.

It’s good management, kindness and companionship.

And it’s providing nutrition that supports their needs.

Forage should form the foundation of a horse’s diet, but ensuring horses receive an appropriate balance of essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements is also an important part of supporting overall health and well-being.

For horses doing such an important job, those everyday foundations matter.

Supporting extraordinary horses with better nutrition.

Horslyx is supporting the Centre’s horses and ponies nutritionally, helping provide essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements alongside their forage.

Horslyx Balancers are designed to complement a forage-based diet, offering
a practical way for horses to receive nutritional support through a format that encourages natural licking behaviour.

It’s a small way of giving something back to horses who spend their days
giving so much to others.

And while this particular story began at the Cavalier Centre, the sentiment behind it is much bigger.

Because they’re more than horses

Across the equestrian world, horses enrich people’s lives in countless ways. Some become our athletic partner around a competition arena. Some teach children their first rising trot. Some become lifelong companions. And some quietly help people discover confidence, independence, connection and joy.

Their roles may be different, but they all rely on us for the same fundamental things: good care, understanding and nutrition that supports their health and well-being.

The horses and ponies at the Cavalier Centre are a wonderful reminder of just how much horses can give and the extraordinary difference a horse can make.
