(Re)Introducing Bonnie Fishburn

A very familiar face will remain with us throughout this year! We’re delighted to re-introduce Horslyx Ambassador Bonnie Fishburn to you all!

“I am so happy that Horslyx have chosen me as one of their Ambassadors for a second year running! I thoroughly enjoyed keeping everybody up to date with my eventing adventures and my horses had hours of fun out of their endless supply of Horslyx.”

“Last season was a typical year in the eventing world where I had some incredible highs and some heart breaking lows. The lowest point of all was for my long term partner, San Francisco II (aka Frankie), to suffer leg trouble early in the season. It makes you feel so desperately sad. But we are now into February and he’s back!! He has done two months of road work now and is allowed to start going in the school and will soon be over fences again. He’s as fresh as a daisy and feels delighted to be back under saddle. My aim with him for this season is to have some fun, if we don’t get back up to British Eventing Intermediate this year it doesn’t matter, as long as he is sound and enjoying himself that will make my season.”

“Then there are my two homebreds, Direct Flo (aka Florence) and Mr Precision (aka Percy), I still call them “the babies” but they turn nine and eight this time, but I think because they are homebred they will always be my babies. They achieved some fantastic results last year both British Eventing and British Riding Clubs competitions, including stepping up to Novice last August. So for them I aim to start the season at BE100 and soon move back up to Novice and hopefully become very established at that level over the bigger fences.”

“My long term aim with them both would be to compete at International 1star events, it might be asking too much to hope for that this season, but if we can get plenty of experience over the bigger fences that will set us on track for our goals.”

“This season I also have a very nice and well-bred six year old to event alongside the others. He is very backwards for his age, as he has taken a long time to mature but I am sure once he starts eventing he will fly. He is showing great promise at home and he qualified for the BE Jump Training Championships on his first outing this year.”

“Somewhere in between competing these four fabulous horses, I have a wedding to plan and a dress to find!! But I’m sure I will find time for everything, I usually do in the end, so roll on 2015 event season, I can’t wait to get Wendy the Wagon loaded for her first event. And thank you once again to Horslyx for their continued support, it’s very much appreciated.”
