Laura Mannion’s Blog: Realising equine ambitions!

We caught up with Horslyx Ambassador Laura Mannion to hear all about this milestone month, and how she’s achieved a lifelong equine ambition!

“Wow what great weather! Summer has finally decided to make an appearance. It’s been a busy few weeks but it’s also been a productive few weeks, with the high point being qualification for the Dublin Horse Show.”

“Competing in the main arena at Dublin has been an ambition of mine and I’m thrilled it has come around so soon. Achieving this has been helped by the fact that we made an earlier start this season, thanks to Horslyx.”

“We started off by going to Millstreet which turned out to be quite the success. Both Bridie and Coco seemed happy to be back in Millstreet and they really upped their game. They got to jump in a variety of arenas and saw lots of new things but weren’t fazed at all. Coco was placed in the top 4 in virtually every class she competed in.”

“Bridie had some stiffer challenges but won her first class and was placed in the top 8 in her classes. The following weekend we went to Cavan where Bridie jumped super and won her class and Coco was just as good and finished 2nd and 4th in a very competitive 1.10m and 1.20m class.”

“Next up was the opening leg of the Connaught leagues, Bridie jumped a super round and finished 7th. Coco jumped in the 1.15m class and just had one down in the jump off. Just two weeks later we were in Ennis at the RDS Dublin Horse Show qualifiers. Coco failed to get to the second round but Bridie jumped the round of her life. It was her first time to jump on grass this season but readily adapted to it, got through to the jump off and won the class. I was absolutely thrilled with her. Needless to say I spoiled her with some mint Horslyx that evening!”

“I’m so looking forward to jumping at the RDS Dublin Horse Show and as a member of team Horslyx doing my part to promote their products.”
