Introducing Laura Mannion

We are super excited to introduce Laura Mannion, who is our sole Irish Ambassador. We are very excited to have her representing Horslyx in Ireland – and wherever her travels take her!

“Hi, I’m Laura Mannion, a young rider based in the West of Ireland. I’m over the moon to be part of the Horslyx Ambassador Team for 2015. I was introduced to Horslyx products several years ago at their trade stand at the Dublin Horse Show in the RDS. At the time, I was looking for something for my ageing pony and the Mobility Horslyx has done the trick, as he is now a bouncing twenty year old.”

“At the moment I am in my second year of an Equine Business Management course. As it is a Distance Learning course, I have time for my passion in life, showjumping. I got my first horse 3 years ago (Bridie), but not having competed on ponies I have had a lot to learn. We started going to training shows jumping 1m and 1.10m classes but never really ventured far from home. With a little more experience, my second season saw us travel to places like Cavan Equestrian Centre, Meadows EC, Mullingar Equestrian Centre and Tattersalls Ireland July Show. We got to mingle with some of the big names in the game but hardly saw a rosette all year.”

“Last year, was busier and much more successful. Bridie moved up the heights to jumping 1.30m and we added a new horse (Coco) to the team. Coco hadn’t competed much but quickly moved from 1.10m to 1.20m. Both mares are by Touchdown, have got lots of character and can be quite a handful some days! We were placed many times throughout the year including 1st and 3rd in the 1.20m class at Mullingar Summer Show, 4th in the 1.30m International warm-up class at Mullingar 2*International Horse Show, Qualifying for the final and jump-off of the Young Riders 1.20m class with a top 10 finish at Millstreet International Horse Show CSI*** and 6th in the 1.25m Young Rider National Development league final.”
